Marketing & Social Media Executive
As the Marketing and Social Media Executive for WELL SAID Toronto Speech Therapy I am responsible for updating the marketing and social media strategies, as well as updating the and creating the new version of the website on WordPress. This was done by:
- Updating the branding guidelines to encompass social media styling, from profile photos and banner to the post styling - includes editable templates
- Create and curate content related to Speech Therapy and Wellness to help build an online community and source of information
- Gather and analyze information and statistics on the post results to help improve content quality
- Use HTML, CSS and java skills to create new pages and content as well as update existing pages and content from old Squarespace website to a new WordPress website
- Develop a functional client portal and community system to allow therapists and clients to speak one-on-one as well as assign specific exercises and information
To Build WELL SAID's Social Media & Website
My goal as the Marketing and Social Media Executive is to establish the brand of WELL SAID on several social media channels as a source of speech therapy, health and wellness information. Through paid advertising and followers we bring in potential clients towards our website to book an appointment with one of the Speech Therapists, or subscribe to our blog.
One top of this, my goal was also to finish the build of the new WordPress website for WELL SAID following proper SEO and analytic guidelines. This website must be able to book appointments online, provide information on services, contain a functional blog and client portal for therapists, clients, and readers.
A Launch of Lively Content
Over the course of just under a year, while working part-time I was able to:
- Unique and soothing branding made to reflect the WELL SAID styling and clinic goals
- Daily posts made for several months including stories, animations, visuals, and written content
- A large gain in activity and followers on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn that lead to the clinic having a fully filled-in schedule for all therapists for several months
- Create and update a website containing over 100 pages of information on speech therapy, services, events, staff, and a long list of articles, blog posts, and publications.
- Fully plan, design and implement a client portal with individual logins for basic blog readers, registered clients and WELL SAID staff to allow for a safe online connection between clients and their therapists
BRANDING UPDATE
I began my work at WELL SAID by introducing myself to the existing branding guidelines that they had developed. I used this as a basis for the social media and updates to the website.
WEBSITE UPDATE
Squarespace limitations required WELL SAID to move to a new host on WordPress. This included appointment booking, articles, and a client portal for courses and communication.
SOCIAL MEDIA & CONTENT
Over forty cover arts created for artists, either in-house with our label or hired for out-of-house work. Many of the cover arts came with an animated version.
An Adaption to Social Media
Although several social media channels had a mild setup at the time I began, much of the practices and methods used for posting and content styling was in need of an update. My first goal was to use the established branding guidelines for WELL SAID to update the profile photos, cover photos, banners, etc. After that was completed I created several sets of mock-up post styles until one was decided on.
After establishing guidelines I took to updating the social media to have higher functionality contacting our support, booking appointments, receiving information about the services, etc.
A Flexible and Foolproof Website
As the WELL SAID website grew and eventually began to pass the limitations of SquareSpace, the original host, our team began looking at WordPress. Due to my previous experience working with WordPress I took the lead on updating the website and ensuring it met all responsive and SEO requirements. This included:
- Rebuilding the main pages of the website: home screen, services, clinic information
- Rewrite and reformatting all blog posts from old website to new website with updated information
- Build custom CSS responsive sections to be used across the website
- Include messaging, contact forms, embedded plugins for Google Maps and social media connections
- Built a custom client and therapist profile system to allow therapists to speak and assign exercises directly with their clients
A Variety of Valuable Visuals
For several months I have been creating a social media daily posting schedule with designs and content created by me. All of the posts follow the branding guidelines nad contain information regarding speech therapy, voice and communication exercises and wellness information.
Below are some examples of the posts I have created related to speech, communication, and wellness.
